The Ibiza Light Festival returns to Dalt Vila this weekend
This weekend, the magical Ibiza Light Festival is set to return to the atmospheric setting of Dalt Vila when it takes over the UNESCO World Heritage site on Friday, November 8th, and Saturday, November 9th.
Now in its eighth edition, the annual event has established itself as one of the island’s most prominent autumn highlights - blending art, technology, and Ibiza's cultural heritage into a spectacle that is expected to attract up to 40,000 visitors.
Under the theme of “Inspiration”, the festival will once again offer a mesmerising mix of light installations, multimedia projections, music, and interactive art set to attract both locals and visitors.
The Santa Llúcia Bastion, one of the strongholds of the Renaissance wall surrounding Dalt Vila, will provide the main stage of the Ibiza Light Festival, transforming the iconic image of the old city for two days with an ephemeral experience of light and colour.
Showcasing the artistic and technological possibilities of light, installations, sculptures, and projections will create a surprising itinerary in an eclectic, immersive, and interactive artistic and technological proposal aimed at all audiences.
With the collaboration of the Consell d’Eivissa, Ajuntament d’Eivissa and Ibiza.Travel, it's a perfect plan for those longer and darker autumn nights that will captivate both young and old.
“This is an important year; the participating artists are involved in a special edition during the 25th anniversary of the Declaration of UNESCO”, comments Iván Domínguez, one of the festival's three co-founders.
Installations, designs and projects that make up “more than an itinerary, a surprising experience with an eclectic, immersive and interactive artistic and technological proposal aimed at all audiences, showing the city of World Heritage in a different light,” say the organisers.
As a novelty, this year there will be food trucks offering refreshments in the surroundings of the Santa Llúcia bastion.
Necko, Hipnotica, PirolaserFX, 3DLight, Improbable Films, Area Grafiti Neon, Aladdin Lights, Pablo Navas and Guillaume are some of the creators participating in the Ibiza Light Festival 2024, which, weather permitting, will open its doors on Friday, November 8 at 18:00 CET / 6 pm.
Don't miss this ephemeral experience of light and colours, showcasing the artistic and technological possibilities of light while demonstrating the potential of Ibiza as a technological and creative destination.
